Firm Health Ghana Foundation, is a voluntary, non-governmental and humanitarian organization committed to enhancing wellness through proactive advocacy efforts. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to prioritize holistic well-being, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects. With a clear vision of a healthier and more empowered society, we leverage advocacy, education, and community engagement to effect positive change.

Over the past 8 years, the Foundation has reached thousands of individuals through our advocacy campaigns, workshops, and events. Our online resource hub has garnered several thousand of views, serving as a valuable tool for individuals seeking reliable wellness information. We’ve established strong partnerships with local health clinics, schools, and community centers, creating a network that supports holistic well-being.

Short-Term Goals (0-3 years)

1. Raise Awareness - Increase public awareness in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem municipality and beyond of key public health and wellness issues through radio and social media outreach.
2. Community Engagement - Engage with local communities through workshops, seminars, and events to educate and empower individuals and communities about wellness practices.
3. Partnerships - Establish partnerships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders to amplify the impact of our wellness initiatives.
4. Resource Mobilization - Secure short-term funding and resources to support initial advocacy campaigns and wellness programs.

Medium-Term Goals (3-6 years)

Program Expansion - Expand wellness programs to reach a larger and more diverse audience, focusing on both municipal and district communities.
Capacity Building - Enhance organizational capacity by providing training to staff, volunteers, and community members involved in advocacy and wellness initiatives
Monitoring and Evaluation - Implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness of programs and advocacy efforts.
Collaborative Initiatives - Collaborate with other NGOs, government bodies, and international organizations to address wellness issues comprehensively at the municipal and district levels.

  • Empowering Health: Your Wellness, Our Commitment.

    Public Health Radio Education Program on Dynamite fm (88.9) dubbed “Wápɔwmu dzen y3ε h3n Dadwen” (Your Health, Our Concern) – Started March 2013 and is ongoing.

  • Over the years, we have screened more than 15,000 people through our free community screening project. Since the inception of the project, we have organized several public education and free medical screening exercises at various locations. These include the University of Mines & Technology (UMaT) for World Kidney Day Celebration 2013, T&A Park (Tarkwa) for Republic Day Celebration 2013, Huni-Valley (Bogoso – Prestea) for World Kidney Day Celebration 2014, Dzodze (Volta Region) for Republic Day Celebration in 2014 and 2015, Tarkwa Divisional Police Headquarters (Tarkwa) for Founders Day Celebration 2014, Konfoase in Sekondi-Takoradi for World Kidney Day Celebration 2015, Tarkwa Local Prisons (Tarkwa) for Founders Day Celebration 2015, Ampain Refugee Camp (Ellembelle) for World Kidney Day Celebration 2016, Yareyeya Community (Tarkwa) for Founders Day Celebration 2016, Nzulezu (Beyin, Ellembelle) for World Kidney Day Celebration 2017, Atuabo Community (Beyin, Ellembelle) for Founders Day Celebration 2017, Tarkwa for World Kidney Day Celebration 2018, Axim Community (Axim) for World Kidney Day Celebration 2020, and others. In 2022, outreach activities were conducted as part of our ongoing commitment to community health.

  • Firm Health Ghana Foundation took a proactive step in promoting community well-being through our past initiative, the Monthly 5KM health walk, fondly named FIRMWalk. Commencing in May 2016, this energizing program was crafted to encourage physical activity, cultivate community connections, and advocate for a healthier lifestyle. Each month, participants united to embark on a journey toward well-being, providing a communal platform for fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals to gather, relish the outdoors, and contribute to positive strides for a healthier, happier life.

  • Embarking on a mission to enhance community well-being, Firm Health Foundation conducted a remarkable past activity. Our Monthly 5KM health walk, aptly named FIRMWalk, was inaugurated in May 2016. This invigorating initiative aimed to promote physical fitness, community bonding, and a culture of wellness. Participants joined hands every month, creating a vibrant space for health enthusiasts to share the joy of outdoor exercise.
