Firm Health Ghana Foundation (FHGF), a health advocacy NGO based in Tarkwa is collaborating with the Apinto Government Hospital (Tarkwa), New Bogoso Government Hospital (Bogoso) and the Tarkwa and Bogoso Media Associations to organize a blood donation drive and awareness campaign to raise 1,000 pints of blood to support health delivery in the Tarkwa and Prestea-Huni Valley Municipalities. It is envisaged that this exercise would further create public awareness of the importance of donating blood and the benefits of stocking up on blood and blood products.
The event which forms part of the birthday celebrations of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s (First President of the Republic of Ghana) will come off on Friday, 29th September 2023 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Due to the huge target set to be achieved, four sites will be used to conduct the exercise namely Tarkwa Senior High (Tarkwa), Fiaseman Senior High School (Tarkwa), St. Augustines Senior High School (Bogoso) and Prestea Senior High Technical School (Prestea).
